DESCRIPTION:The American Orthopaedic Association and the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses co-present the 2023 Virtual Own the Bone Symposium \n  \nJoin Own the Bone and NAON for this three-part virtual certificate course highlighting how bone health evaluation and management can improve patient outcomes given the fragility fracture epidemic and rising periprosthetic fractures. \nParticipants will hear from expert faculty about implementation considerations for bone health programs of all sizes – from getting started with a counseling and communications-only model\, all the way up to a fully developed Post-Fracture Service.  Knowledgeable speakers will discuss a range of topics\, including how to perform standard patient workups for bone health\, in-depth patient case studies\, and the logistics of care coordination. \n  \nTarget audience includes orthopaedic surgeons\, multidisciplinary physicians\, nurses\, nurse practitioners\, physician assistants\, physical and occupational therapists and other allied health professionals who care for orthopaedic patients in both acute care and outpatient settings. \n  \nThe three sessions happening June 8\, June 22\, and June 23 will only be offered virtually. Presented by the Osteoporosis Foundation of New Mexico (OFNM)\, this meeting is for healthcare providers\, scientists\, and researchers with a special interest in bone disease\, and for bone densitometry technologists who seek a high level of knowledge in their field.
