ISCD Interest Group Rules 

Thank you for being a member of the ISCD and for participating in our ISCD Interest Groups. The goal of our Interest Groups is to provide a virtual community discussion board where colleagues can share and discuss pertinent topics that relate to their professional specialties. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation. 

By joining and participating in the ISCD Interest Groups, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions, shared files and content to those that best suit the online forum. This is a great medium with which to request the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation.  

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the guidelines. In order to preserve the professional integrity of this ISCD member benefit, we encourage both respectful and productive dialogue.  We reserve the right to remove any content that we feel is harmful or inflammatory, and to suspend or terminate participation in Interest Groups for anyone who violates these rules.

Interest Group Rules  

• Keep discussion collaborative and professional, don’t attack others. The discussions and comments are meant to stimulate conversation, not to create contention. Challenging a comment or opinion should be done in a thoughtful and professional manner.  
• Don’t post commercial messages or subscription-based articles.  
• Don’t post any confidential information related to patients, their files etc.  
• All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.  
• Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted.  
• All messages must add to the body of knowledge. We reserve the right to reject any message for any reason. 

Interest Group Etiquette 

• Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location.  
• Update your profile to ensure your display name and contact details are accurate. 
• State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the Topic Title line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject. 
• Start a new topic if you feel your content really doesn’t fit any of the existing topics within an interest group. 
• Do not send administrative messages within the Interest Groups. 
• Read all the posts in a thread before responding so you don’t repeat what others have already said. Try to contribute clarifying information or a new idea to a discussion. 
• Be concise. 
• Avoid using all caps when posting as well as jargon or shorthand that may need be clear to everyone reading. Everyone appreciates good grammar.
