Changes Coming to the ISCD CCD Exam Format
The ISCD is introducing a new and more convenient method to take the Certified Clinical Densitometry (CCD) exam. Beginning January 1, 2025, the CCD exam will be taken online through the ISCD Learning platform.
The application fee and submission process will stay the same, as well as eligibility criteria to sit for the exam.
The transition process will take place in the month of December.
- For those wanting to sit for the CCD exam at a PSI computer-based testing center, you will need to submit your application for approval by December 6th and take the exam by December 31st.
- For those wanting to take the exam online, you will be able to submit your application for approval starting on December 7th and be able to take the exam starting January 1st.
There will be more information and instructions available soon.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no changes to the Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) exam method. Because the CBDT is an accredited credential by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, the exam must still be taken at a computer-based testing center. Certain providers, states, regions, and insurance companies require technologists to be certified by an accredited program to perform DXA scans.
