2027 Position Development Conference Topic Submission Form

The development and ultimate selection of topics to be considered at each Position Development Conference (PDC) is of vital importance to the ISCD. It requires a balance of developing positions on new or recently improved techniques, software, and hardware that have sufficient scientific data to warrant development of official positions and yet are still relatively new in the market. There is also a need to consider shifts in the research/data that might warrant an update of current positions, or risk them becoming irrelevant.

The Position Development Steering Committee & Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) are now soliciting topics for consideration at the 2027 ISCD Position Development Conference. The criteria that will be used to evaluate topics include, but is not limited to:
  1. Related to, and supportive of, the ISCD mission.
  2. Sufficient scientific research exists to warrant the creation of a task force and convening of a PDC, such that there is a reasonable probability that scientifically supported Position Statements can be established.
  3. Sufficient controversy or uncertainty in the field around aspects of the topic such that Position Statements developed by a PDC would contribute to the field.
  4. Impact of the official positions needs to be applicable to the constituencies ISCD serves. The greatest emphasis should be on clinical application/clinical utility.
  5. Topics should be supportive of and help direct, ISCD educational programs.
