Board Positions Available in 2026

  • President-Elect – (1-year term), The President-Elect shall discharge the duties of the President in case of the latter’s absence or disability. The President-Elect shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President of the Board. The President-Elect shall automatically become President upon the expiration of the term of President.
  • Vice President—(1-year term) The Vice President shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the President of the Board. The Vice President is often asked to consider and is frequently nominated for the President-Elect’s position immediately following his/her term as Vice President.
  • Facility Accreditation Chair — (3-year term)The Facility Accreditation Council shall be responsible for oversight of the Society’s Facility Accreditation Program, setting standards and assessment criteria as well as approving facilities for accreditation by ISCD. The Council Chair shall determine membership of the committee. The chair will be selected through the board nomination and election process and must be a member of ISCD in good standing.
  • Public Policy Committee Chair—(3-year term) The purpose of the Public Policy Committee is to monitor and influence state, federal, and international regulations as well as insurance reimbursement policies that impact bone densitometry accessibility, reimbursement, certification, and accreditation.  The Committee Chair shall determine the committee’s membership. The chair will be selected through the board nomination and election process and must be a member of ISCD in good standing.
  • Canadian Regional Panel Representative to the Board (3-year term)- The Canadian Regional Panel is a group of skeletal health experts whose purpose is to support the mission of the ISCD and work towards achieving its goals and objectives in the Canadian Region. The representative must be a member of the panel and a member of ISCD in good standing.
  • European, Middle Eastern, and African Regional Panel Representative to the Board – (3-year term) The European, Middle Eastern, and African Regional Panel is a group of skeletal health experts whose purpose is to support the mission of the ISCD and work towards achieving its goals and objectives in the European, Middle Eastern, and African Region. The representative must be a member of the panel and a member of ISCD in good standing.
  • Latin American Regional Panel Representative to the Board (3-year term)- The Latin American Regional Panel is a group of skeletal health experts whose purpose is to support the mission of the ISCD and work towards achieving its goals and objectives in the Latin American Region. The representative must be a member of the panel and a member of ISCD in good standing.

Nomination FAQ’s

Q: Can I nominate myself?
A: Yes, self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. Nominees must be a Professional or Full Member (or willing to upgrade) for consideration.

Q: If elected, how much of a time commitment can I expect?
A: An officer or board member can expect to commit about 15 days per year to the board’s activities, including face-to-face meetings and conference calls.

Voting

  • Any ISCD member (Community, Professional, or Full) can vote. ISCD uses third-party software to conduct the elections, and ballots must be submitted electronically online. To increase email deliverability, ISCD has adopted several actions to ensure all eligible members receive a ballot.
    • Some members have opted out of receiving emails from ISCD. The society will conduct a campaign in the fall of 2025 to encourage members to update their email preferences.
    • Some members have opted out of receiving emails from our third-party election vendor by clicking unsubscribe from ballot emails sent on behalf of ISCD or another organization serviced by the vendor.
      • ISCD will compare our voter eligibility list with the list of third-party unsubscribe requests and send members emails with instructions on how to resubscribe to the voting emails.
    • ISCD will send reminder emails to those who have not voted, encouraging them to vote.
