For a Black female, the T-score should be analyzed against a female White database, per the ISCD consensus guidelines. The Z-score is correctly compared to a Black female.

Case Description:
This scan is from a postmenopausal Black female. Instead of the T-score being reported against a female Caucasian database as recommended by the ISCD Consensus Guidelines, the T-score was reported again a Black database. It is important to also scrutinize the databases used when evaluating a DXA scan (along with positioning, presence of artifacts, regions of interest and edge detection PARE). In this case, the T-score would change and would be lower. At the bottom of a Hologic report it gives the database first used for the T-score and then the database used for the Z-score
