Femoral Neck Box Size Incorrect

 

In this panel the femoral neck box is the incorrect size. The default size in Hologic is 49 x 15 pixels.

This image shows the placement of the Hologic femoral neck box. The default size is 49 x 15 pixels.

Case Description:

The scan on the left has the wrong femoral neck default size for a Hologic scanner. On the right panel, the size of the femoral neck box width has been corrected to 15 pixels. The default on a Hologic scanner is 49 x 15 pixels. While small changes in femoral neck box width may have fairly small effects on femoral neck bone density, precision is a problem if the sizes of the boxes are not the same on follow-up scans.
