Case Description:
The default size of the femoral neck box on a Hologic hip scan is 49 x 15 pixels. As long as three corners are in soft tissue, the femoral neck result is not substantially altered by differences in the length of the femoral neck. The most important dimension is the width of the femoral neck box. Small changes in femoral neck size may not affect bone mineral density, but such changes may have an effect on precision.
